The 737-900 I am on right now headed for LGA has been in service for 3 days. Smells like new plane. Fresh plastic and curing sealant.

Can't say I've ever been on a plane that's done less than 100 million miles. Most of the ones I've been on smell like old tennis shoes and febreze.
So I take it the seats aren't also broken and reclining into your lap?

It's cool, huh? I got on a plane in Seattle once that had that new plane smell. I was on it's very first passenger carrying flight. Another thing I noticed - soooooo quiet. Everything was still factory tight, no rattles, nothing.

It won't smell that way for long, as soon it will have been farted in a few hundred thousand times and will smell worse than a dumpster in July.

Funny, most of the Delta planes I end up on are old as dust. Usually, it's something from McDonnell Douglas.

The last plane I flew on smelled very strongly of vinegar. I don't even know.

Viniger is frequently used to clean the toilet bowls.

Looks like they spilled it all over the seats then.
